3 : Only 3 Stars from me because the Icons are looking not good anymore. It seems that this Plugin does not support the Alpha Channel on the Icons, so the Icons are looking bad on the borders. Hope you fix that

3 : Does not show a badge when the app is in a folder. Other than that it works fine for me.

4 : Generally very good, however does seem to stop working occasionally.

1 : It really sucks very very limited on apps you can choose to get notification. Does not correlate with main apps notification choices. If you fix issues ill get it again and give better rating!

2 : With newest version: Badge count does not work for all apps now as it says it does. Even though it is checked off in the individual settings for it. Not sure why.

5 : The number 1 app to have along with Apex Launcher. I have custom icons and this app shows the badge icons and accurate count. excellent work developers, this is the best notification app. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

1 : Switched to Nova Launcher Premium. Badge Message counts worked fine with Aquamail on Note 5, now they do not work on Note 9 (Oreo). Complained to Dev's with no response.

1 : unread message count for Verizon message+ no longer works. the only icon that has an unread message count is the gmail icon. I have Apex pro and have enabled unread count in alex notifier. please fix asap

1 : Can you please add the text based counter like the one they have in Samsung TouchWiz home please? So they can be read by TalkBack, since I am a blind user who uses TalkBack screen reader. Thank you very much.

1 : used to work. doesnt anymore. stopped working on aquamail and chomp sms. used to be perfect. why change. uninstalled. reinstalled. still nothing 😨😨😨

FAQs & Tutorials

Q: What is an .APK File?

A: An Android Package Kit (APK for short) is the package file format used by the Android operating system for distribution and installation of mobile applications. Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same.

Q: What is an .XAPK File?

A: XAPK is a zip format standard that includes Android App Bundles or APK files (installation packages), along with OBB, cache assets, and other data files. This format ensures that an app is downloaded and runs successfully on Android devices. Due to the Google Play Store's limitation on app file sizes, developers often use the XAPK file format for apps larger than 100MB. This approach allows users to download APK files on Android without experiencing corruption issues.

Q: How to install .APK File?

Installing APK files on Android devices is straightforward. Here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. Download the APK File: Download the APK file from this website and save it in an easy-to-find location, such as your device's 'Downloads' folder.
  2. Open and Install the APK File: Locate and open the APK file you just downloaded. A prompt will appear asking for your confirmation to install the app. Tap "Install" to proceed with the installation.
  3. Complete Installation and Launch the App: Wait for the installation process to complete. Once installed, you can open the app directly or find it in your app drawer.

Q: How to install .XAPK File?

To install an XAPK file, you need to use the Split APKs Installer (SAI) application. Here's how to do it:

  1. Install SAI: Download and install the Split APKs Installer (SAI) app. The installation process is similar to that of any regular APK file.
  2. Install the XAPK:
    - Open the Split APKs Installer (SAI) on your device.
    - In SAI, tap on the 'Install APKs/XAPK' button.
    - Navigate to the folder where you saved the downloaded XAPK file.
    - Select the XAPK file you wish to install and proceed.
  3. Complete the Installation: Follow the on-screen instructions within SAI to complete the installation process. Once the installation is finished, the app will be available in your app drawer for use.

App permissions

Apex Notifier 4.0.7 requires following permissions:

  • Allows an application to read the user's contacts data.
  • Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.
  • Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.
  • Allows an application to read the user's calendar data.
  • Allows an application to collect battery statistics

What's New

Because Google Play doesn't allow Notifier to use READ_CALL_LOG and READ_SMS permissions, we removed these two so that it may cause inaccuracy for unread calls and messages in some devices.

About Apex Notifier

Apex Notifier is an extension application for Apex Launcher Pro. It provides notification data to the main Apex Launcher app and does nothing on its own. Unread counts will show up in badges on application icons. Please enable Apex Notifier in Apex Settings > Notification Badge.

Supported Apps
• Missed Calls
• Unread SMS
• Calendar Appointments
• Gmail
• HTC Mail
• Samsung Email
• K-9/Kaiten Mail
• Battery Level
• Stock Email
• Google Hangouts
• WhatsApp
• Google Play
• Google Voice

Notes
• Unread SMS provides the number of unread messages, not unread conversations.
• Gmail unread count requires Gmail version 4.0.5 or higher.
• If you update Gmail or install K-9/Kaiten Mail after installing Apex Notifier, you may have to re-install Apex Notifier to get proper permissions.
• Notification data for Email, Google Voice, and Starbucks are retrieved from widgets. Please set up your account in those apps first. Depending on how often each app refreshes its widget, data may not be updated in real time.
• Features listed under Labs are experimental and may stop working in the future.
• Please install Apex Launcher before installing Apex Notifier.
• Apex Notifier only works with official versions of Apex Launcher Pro. Please do not ask for support if you are using a modified or pirated version.

Feature Requests
For now, only apps listed above are supported. Integration with additional apps may be implemented in the future if there is official API or public content provider.

Developers: Apex Launcher Pro also supports notifications from other apps. Please check out the notifications API at http://goo.gl/NC8EO
